We simultaneously carried out an external power Upgrade and internal refurbishment at the Heston site for Quest.


The project was a complicated due to the fact Quest wanted to completely re organise the business in terms of production flow through the building. The Goods in location changed from the rear to front of building and this required the business functions / process inside the building to completely reverse. On the 1st floor the requirement was to create a suite of management offices from a disused laboratory area, and a new Staff café area.

The Ground floor requirement involved refurbishing the reception, creating better access to an improved client tour route and viewing gallery, creation of new client WC’s off reception, relocate laboratory operations refurbishing during process and creating a new laboratory from space gained.

We also installed a new specialist HVAC system with positive / negative air flow areas plus filtration systems, in line with this we completely rewired the building with new Distribution Boards splitting essential and non essential supplies for business continuity


We carried out a Power Upgrade that was required to work hand in hand for the benefit of the internal project. The objective was to raise the Power capability for building from 500KVA to 800KVVA with the addition of a new additional back up generator All the internal electrical infrastructure was completed ahead of the changeover to the new system.

The works involved reconfiguration of the carpark and existing external plant, installation of new switch gear housing to operate new transformer installed by SSE

  • New laboratory and café vinyl, plus new DESSO carpet to offices
  • New Kitchen, laboratory, café and office furniture
  • Phase relocations and disposals.

KWD provided our T4 facility years ago and therefore knew our business and design requirements inside out. Once again they carried out a flawless refurbishment and relocation with the new T3 facility being completed ahead of schedule and within budget. Everyone is thrilled with the result.
